PHOTOGRAPHY ART COLLECTION INTRO
During the decades Photography has become one of the most important art forms in contemporary art. With reference to aspects of our historical and cultural experience, with the focus on the perception of the human being, artists use this medium in a wide range of formal languages and conceptual approaches.
Despite today on the internet we can see a lot of images, to find real photography that is thought and makes you think is has become an increasingly demanding task, and in this sense it enters the field and requires work on the part of those who deal with this medium as a curator.
This project is born from this reflection and need.
PHOTOGRAPHY ART COLLECTION EDITORIAL PROJECT
This editorial project aims to showcase a highly selected selection of international photographers.
All kinds of photography are accepted: landscape, portrait, documentary, nude/erotica, street, conceptual etc. . The important thing is the quality of the proposal.
We want to push a qualitative discourse linked to the photographic image.
We want to create a circle of photographers and art collectors really interested to make and promoting high quality content, across different generations and cultural backgrounds from any part of the world, providing a unique insight and a creative commentary of the world in which we live.
With this in mind, we are pleased to present a project that will use today’s social media (Facebook, Instagram) but aware that a printed book is always something different and more connected with the real world. To make this possible the project will be hosted on the website of Alex Coghe https://www.alexcoghe.com and will count with a public Facebook group.
Everyone is welcome to join the group, but will count with a rigorous moderation of the proposals, in order to make a first filter for the selection of the editorial project, always keeping in mind the book.
THE BOOK
There will be a printed book per year, published through the on demand publishing service offered by peecho.

CURATORS:
MARIE FERNÁNDEZ MOTA
My name is Marie Fernández Mota and I ́m a documentary photographer. I ́m from Mexico City. I studied for a year at the Escuela Activa de Fotografía and then moved to Paris for two years to specialize in photojournalism and documentary photography.
I’m interested in people and their stories, we all have something to tell and I think as photographers, it’s our duty to listen and most importantly, portray their stories with dignity and a certain beauty. Anyone or anything can lead to a story if we ́re curious and sensible enough.
MAX KLING
Max often compares his way of Street Photography with his two other passions, which is fly fishing in small creeks and strolling over flea markets early in the morning.
“You have a rough plan, but no idea what to expect, no clue if anything is going to happen. The only thing you need is trust and confidence to your experience, your instincts and your intuition” says Max. “And then, out of nowhere, it’s there, it happens. Then it’s time. Time to be fast, focused and brave. If you miss these couple of seconds, it’s gone. No fish, no found, no picture.”
Max Kling shows us scenes and moments that one can see every day – yet rarely does. Because our eyes are distorted, our minds are already in the future and our eyes are numb from the pinpricks of the flood of digital images. Rough, grainy and almost analogous, Max Klings’ counterpoints to the perfect smoothness of optimized camera and smart-phone technology and the colorful iridescent Insta-world.
The moments that Max Kling captures in monochrome images allow us to pause, dissect the clichés of urban life, and give us time to develop our own thoughts and stories. The renunciation of color reduces the usual to the essentials. Man in the everydayness of his being and doing – black and white, light and shadow, contrasts and structures. No picture is staged. Pictures come and arise – situational, spontaneous and in the middle of life. Everywhere, at any time, in any weather, day and night – always. Fleeting finds of life.
Recognizing and recording these special, everyday and irretrievable moments is what Max Kling is all about. He lives and works in Frankfurt/Germany and the surrounding area. From almost three decades of commercial work in advertising and photography in all its facets, the idea and passion for capturing and making urban life artistically accessible, has developed into his todays style.
ALEX COGHE
I am an Italian photojournalist currently based in Mexico. As a documentary photographer my work in Mexico is focused on the documentation of human conditions in the barrios, popular neighborhoods of Mexico City and I am collaborating with some NGO in Oaxaca.
For me photography is an important documentation tool, representing above all the opportunity for sociological and anthropological reflections. In all these years, especially when engaged in documenting social and humanitarian themes, I have been able to observe how photography can be a tool to raise awareness on certain issues that are often ignored or underestimated, and I am a direct witness of how certain photography can represent an opportunity for change and improvement of society.
